School Art

I think the problem is some teacher didn’t put enough time to explore their eyes, or maybe the principle of school didn’t accept new concept. Some times no matter how many passion you have, how many good concept you have, how many good hand skills you have, it is about the connection. It really depends on the teacher’s mood if it is in school. And our parents only care about the marks and tutoring. The Hong Kong education systems is not perfect yet.

But some time is hard to say what is beautiful and what is not. It is about the judge, but is one person qualify to be capable of many things. Good management skill, good planning skill, good language skill, and have to have good art sense at the same time? Is that possible? Can a teacher or principle be that role?

To be honest, it is really hard to define hong kong style, their might be china style, but what is hong kong style? red – white – blue? street art? chinese ink? paper art? poem? Specific use of colors? I think multi-culture makes us no culture?!

Style is really about what we are seeing? TV, magazine, buildings, shop display, food, home decoration… I believe government is working on it, but slowly, because if the government is willing to put more effort in art. Than our sense of art will upgrade for sure. Not school, because not all school are rich. Now still have many school have to face the problem of closing down.

If you need government to put more money in art, I think we have to wait till they solve the poor problem, really. Now Hong Kong still have people earn less than 3000 a month, and don’t have a place to live. How can we talk about art, when there are people living on the street. Man. But those aren’t artist. They are individual that trying to work hard as we are.

Rich people, government, landlord, please do something. I know the rich is getting richer, the poor still remains, please fix this. Than we can start to educate our next generation with better way of seeing things. Art sense and open mind.

    Just a comment,

    (1) If the expensive housing is for the rich, build some cheap and small one. Just build maybe 1,000 per year. So that this won’t effect too much on the price.
    (2) Take away the lowest salary 28HKD law, this is only doing good to those big company, not to us actually, once this law is through, many small company have to close down, who wins? Park and shop, Hugh shopping mall won. Not us, now the new generation is even harder to look for a job, as the salary is higher, they rather find some people with working experience than white paper. So what can this generation do? Study, but study is too expensive, because the school only care about money now a day. This is true. For those whom can’t afford school. What can they do? If they have no job, no school, where can they go? 24 hours a day wasting, they have force, and they can be productive to Hong Kong and their own path too.
    (3) Working hours are too tense, which not only designer are like this. Mini bus drivers, truck driver, nurse, doctors, street cleaner. Hong Kong people is hardly to have time for relaxes, because we some times have to work during weekend too. I think government should really help us on the housing, food price, and the public space. Need to cut down some of those tense.
